International language institute Berlitz (Ladies Center) participated by switching off non-essential lights almost entirely throughout the center from 8:30pm until 9:00pm, when the center closes. Staff, admin and Berlitz instructors were more than happy to explain to curious customers and students what the Earth Hour was all about.
